Job Title: AS/400 (RPG) Developer

Location: Bangalore (Work from Office / Hybrid as applicable)
Work Timing: UK / EMEA Hours
Experience: 5+ Years
Engagement Type: Long-term / Multi-year (Contract / Full-time)

 

Role Overview

We are looking for experienced AS/400 (RPG) Developers based in Bangalore to support a global client’s multi-phase implementation program. This is a long-term opportunity involving enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of legacy systems.

The role requires working in UK / EMEA time zones and collaborating closely with onsite stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications on IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform
  • Work on RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / ILE / Free Format RPG) programming
  • Analyze requirements and design technical solutions
  • Perform coding, testing, and deployment of enhancements
  • Handle production support and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with client teams across EMEA
  • Ensure high-quality code and adherence to standards
  • Participate in ongoing system enhancements and modernization efforts

 

Required Skills

  • Strong experience with AS/400 (IBM iSeries)
  • Hands-on expertise in RPG IV / ILE RPG / Free Format RPG
  • Experience with CL Programming
  • Solid understanding of DB2/400
  • Good debugging and analytical skills
  • Experience working in client-facing roles
  • Ability to work in UK / EMEA shifts

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in legacy system modernization
  • Exposure to API integration / web services on IBM i
  • Experience in onsite-offshore delivery models
  • Prior work with global clients (EMEA preferred)

 

Shift Details

  • Mandatory to work in UK / EMEA business hours (approx. 1:30 PM – 10:30 PM IST, may vary)

 

Duration

  • Long-term engagement with potential multi-year opportunity
