Assistant Controller

What you'll do

• Support bookkeeping and tax services and special projects to our clients and provide internal accounting solutions as needed.
• Build relationships with the top founders and CEOs of the tech world, ensuring that they are passionate friends of ours.
• Own the end to end client experience for a diverse portfolio of clients
• Manage client communications via phone, email, chat, and more.
• Advocate for our client's needs; you're the one with a finger on the pulse.
• Answer or direct accounting-related questions to support our clients through all the challenges they face as they grow their businesses.  
• Contribute your thoughts and ideas to our growing culture; we want your input and meaningful impact!
• Work closely within and across teams to provide seamless best-in-class support to our clients.
• As someone who interacts with clients daily, you will provide our product team with direct feedback on what is working well and what improvements we can make.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• A passion for working with clients-- helping them succeed, and building solid and long-lasting relationships with them
• Great listening skills, honed-in to figure out how you can best support clients while also collecting important feedback to help guide the executive team
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to stay extremely organized in a crazy-fast moving environment
• Strong research skills to figure out answers to questions you don't already know
• Phenomenal teamwork skills! We are a team through-and-through, and our success is entirely dependent on working together

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Minimum of 1 year of client-facing experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Working knowledge of accounting theory and principles
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong client-facing or communication skills required
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in other locations and time zones preferred
