Job Description

In the Big Data Analytics – Lead UI Engineer role, you will be responsible for participating in the design and development efforts of our big data user interfaces for the configuration and presentation of ETL interfaces, reporting, and visualization efforts.

This is a great opportunity to join early and influence the technology selection, design, and have ownership of the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate software designs and determine levels of effort for new product features
• Develop software written in Javascript, including backbonejs, d3.js, and SVG rendering and other languages as needed
• Work closely with QA and other software engineers on Agile teams to deliver quality features
• Participate in architecture discussions to address long-term design objectives

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience in a Unix/Linux environment
• Experience building RESTful web service deployments with frameworks such as Grails, Play, or Go
• Development of HTML5 applications using frameworks such as Node.js including Express and Angular.js
• Experience deploying and configuring web applications on Apache HTTP and Tomcat servers, Rails, PHP, or similar enterprise installations (nginix, Websphere, etc.)
• Application of security configurations and protocols on network and application settings
• Configuration of user databases and access control systems, including those such as OpenAM, BouncyCastle, Apache Shiro, or standard LDAP-based authentication
• Extensive experience with Javascript development including familiarity with backbone.js, d3,js, and SVG rendering
• Effective application of CSS3 to HTML5 applications and demonstrated management of CSS classes to increase code clarity and maintainability while reducing complexity
• Experience with distributed system products including key-value or column-oriented NoSQL databases such as Casandra, Redis, or MemSQL
• Full software development life-cycle experience with proven track record of shipping quality software products on-time
• Experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud implementations preferably AWS or Azure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; documentation, presentation and training skills for team members
• Excellent teamwork, organizational, and analytical skills
