Biomaterials Engineer

Cellivate Technologies is a deep tech start-up that enables cultured meat companies to accelerate the growth of cells, increase yield while maintaining vital cellular markers. Our product portfolio includes ProCYTE coverslips, Petri dishes, and edible and non-edible microcarriers, our products fit well with the existing process, thus easily adaptable by the cultured meat companies. Our technologies are recognised by stem cells and biotechnology companies for better processes and increasing the yield. We are rapidly expanding and hiring a highly motivated Biomaterials Engineer to join our vibrant, enthusiastic goal driven team.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop bio adherent metal oxide coatings using wet-chemistry on 2- & 3-dimensional macro & micro surfaces
• Characterise the developed coatings using analytical techniques e.g., microscopy, spectroscopic techniques etc.,
• Validate the developed surfaces with 2- & 3-dimensional mammalian cell culture
• Quantify the cellular secretories (e.g., protein, nucleotides, growth hormones etc) from mammalian cell culture using techniques such as western blot, Bradford/BCA/UV based assays, PCR assay etc.
• Prepare technical reports and develop safe operating procedures
• Operate and maintain the state-of the art bioreactors and instruments
• Prepare and maintain quality management & quality assurance system
• Actively participate in the company’s R&D meeting for process, product, business presentation developments
• Prepare invention disclosures

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or related discipline with 1-2 years of experience in wet-chemical process.
• Experience in mammalian cell culture and associated assays is a plus
