TLDR
Lead strategic sourcing, supplier audits, component technology investigations, and product launch ramp-up while improving quality, reliability, and material flow.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities including supplier evaluation, selection, development, qualification, and product launch ramp-up aligned with commodity and development strategies.
- Review supplier’s processes and identify improvement opportunities in processes and systems to improve quality, cost and flow of supplied materials.
- Act as the technical liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders (Sales, R&D, PM, Engineering and Production);
- Work with New Product Development (NPD) teams to ensure the integrity and clarity of engineering drawing requirements and that all expectations are communicated effectively to supporting suppliers.
- Use project management skills and tools to investigate alternate component technologies and lead VA/VE efforts for reduced cost or improved quality and reliability and implement changes.
- Continuous involvement in the Supplier Selection Process to develop a supply base that provides a competitive advantage to our BAs.
- Conduct supplier audits, negotiate contracts and risk analysis/mitigation plans.
