In short in this job you will be responsible for helping all of our database/application-related activities to fulfill the overall product vision.

Responsibilities:

• Database architecture - Design and implement different schema topology for RDBMS/ key-value stores
• Development & Release process Support – Help engineers and business analysts adopt database best practices, review database change requests and provide optimization advice, schema change management, prepare release-specific checklists and scripts
• Scalability & Availability – maximize uptime, implement and maintain proper safeguards for backup, replication, and recovery. Provides and Implement solutions both for Read and Write scalability of databases
• Security – design and implement user privileges and access controls to data according to best practices and compliance requirements
• Automation – develop scripts to automate routine database related operations
• Support - proactive and reactive data management support and training to users, Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response / support requests 

Skill set

• 2+ years experience in managing production relational databases in 24×7 environment in PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB/MySQL, NoSQL Data stores like MongoDB/Cassandra/Aerospike 
• Proficiency in Maintaining/Tuning/Accessing very large databases (>5TB)
• Experience in schema design for different data store requirements and writing SQL queries and performance optimization, including traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention etc
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, S3, etc.)
• Familiarity with database best practices, principles of database replication, backup, scalability and high availability
• Understanding of basic database fundamentals: multi-version control, concurrency, transactions, indexing, locking, caching. Understanding of Linux environment with shell scripting

Nice To Have

• Experience in using one or more monitoring solutions (Zabbix, Nagios, NewRelic etc.)
• Experience in scripting language like Python.
