Auterion

DevOps Engineer

TLDR

Own AWS infrastructure and pipelines supporting flight telemetry, fleet management, and remote operations.

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our Web Apps team, in our Zürich office. In this role, you will own our cloud infrastructure, automate our pipelines, be proactive and monitor our services, and ensure our systems are secure and cost-efficient.

The web apps team plays a central role at Auterion and owns the systems that add connectivity and remote interfaces for fleet management and operations. Our services are responsible for ingesting and analyzing flight telemetry data, managing and updating the fleet as well as integrating with other systems across the stack.

The ideal candidate is someone who’s a self-starter, can work independently, can work with ambiguity, can take decisions on their own and not be afraid to drive and push towards getting the project across the finish line.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Maintain, migrate, and scale our AWS infrastructure using Terraform and best practices for EC2, ECS, and data storage.
  • Maintain and optimize our build/deploy pipelines using GoCD and GitHub Actions to ensure seamless delivery of our polyglot services (Node, Python, Rust, C++).
  • Manage Docker images and orchestration on ECS to ensure consistent environments from dev to production.
  • Implement and monitor metrics, logs, and alerts using Datadog. Proactively analyze traffic patterns to prevent issues before they impact users.
  • Take ownership of infrastructure compliance standards, specifically maintaining requirements for SOC2.
  • Analyze usage patterns and implement strategies to reduce AWS infrastructure costs without sacrificing performance
  • Maintain and improve integrations with 3rd party services
  • Audit, maintain and improve security best practices across our public and private access endpoints

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
  • Strong proficiency with AWS core services (EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, IAM).
  • Production experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Solid experience with Docker and container orchestration.
  • Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines is a must (GoCD and GitHub Actions preferred).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, New Relic, or Prometheus).
  • Experience navigating a polyglot environment (Node.js, Python, C++ or Rust) is a plus
  • Knowledge of Database administration (Postgres) using ORMs (Prisma) is a plus.
  • Experience handling infrastructure SOC2 compliance requirements is a plus.
