Embedded Software Engineer - Body Systems
TLDR
Design and test software for body, thermal, lighting, and door functions; integrate supplier subsystems into the software stack.
Design, develop, and test embedded software for body, thermal, lighting, and door functions of the Zoox vehicle
Create software requirements, design documentation, test plans, and other supporting documentation
Work cross-functionally with vehicle engineers, controls engineers, electrical engineers, validation engineers, and other experts to ensure a seamless and highly-automated experience for the Zoox vehicle
Integrate supplier sub-systems into the Zoox software stack
Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle including prototyping, requirements capture, design, implementation, and validation
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science or equivalent experience
1+ years of experience developing real-time embedded software for distributed electro-mechanical systems
Strong C++/C programming experience and object oriented programming
Experience with embedded micro-controllers and/or microprocessors (ARM, PowerPC or equivalent)
Understanding of various sensors, motors, actuators
Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up and system debugging
Basic knowledge of control systems for electromechanical systems
Experience with CAN, LIN analysis, and debugging tools (PCAN, CANalyzer, CANape, etc.)
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $170,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
