Full Stack Engineer
The Role
The Fidelity Insurance Group (FIG) Technology team is a small, growing team in Enterprise Services with a 'Start Up' feel. We are seeking an upbeat, hardworking Full Stack Engineer to join us in defining the future for our organization. We will have a focus on modernizing and building innovative cloud-native experiences, capabilities, and platforms in support of millions of customers who are seeking products that provide guaranteed income and/or protection. We are an emerging group in Fidelity with strategic financial backing.
As a member of the team you’ll craft and influence creative solutions that meet not only functional, but also performance, scalability and reliability requirements.
Can conceptualize Object Oriented design and engineering design patterns
Hands on experience with building RESTful Web Services/APIs
Work as a member of a high functioning Agile team to help drive the next generation user experience for Fidelity Donor, Rep, and Advisor web applications
The skills and expertise you bring
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
5 plus years of experience in full stack development, with at least 2 years in a senior
Proficiency in front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Java, Python).
Experience in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudFormation).
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
Understanding and experience in Keel framework/Keel Node/scripting is a plus
Experience in design and implementation of end-to-end solutions across front-end, back-end, and cloud infrastructure.
Develop high-quality, maintainable code using modern frameworks and languages (React, Angular, Node.js, Java, Python, etc.).
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver robust and user-friendly applications.
Ensure compliance with security standards and implement monitoring and observability solutions.
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to architecture and processes.
High levels of engagement at the team and group levels; Desire to learn and impact outside your primary tasking.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
Experience in designing, implementing, or maintaining systems that support Term Life Insurance operations such as policy administration, underwriting and claim processing is a plus.
The Team
The Fidelity Insurance Group (FIG) Technology team is a recently established group aimed at providing transparent solutions and support for all of FIG’s business functions. We partner with internal FIG stakeholders and multiple organizations across Fidelity, most notably the Fidelity Insurance Agency (FIA) to deliver modern solutions on that scale. It is an exciting time in this space with much potential for growth and innovation!
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
