Intermediate - Business Analyst ( Contract )

Key Accountabilities, Duties & Responsibilities:
· Perform fit/gap analysis and document potential software implementation challenges
· Plan and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with Corrections Clients to elicit and develop requirements for software implementations and enhancements
· Author clear, concise and complete Requirements Specification and Conceptual Design documentation
· Collaborate with Project Managers, Developers, and Testers during all phases of the software development life-cycle
· Assist in the triage of Client-reported issues
· Participate in the planning and verification of software releases
· Create release documentation
· Develop application training material for both internal and external use
· Deliver application (Train-the-Trainer (T3) and End-User) training in a classroom/group setting at Client sites
· Maintain strong Client relationships and be a positive representative for the company
· Regularly travel to client sites for essential project activities
· Proactively identify and escalate project issues and risks
· Provide mentoring and training to internal staff members with regard to Client business processes and product offerings
· Employ and adhere to the processes and procedures adopted by Syscon for all phases of project work
· Contribute to the improvement and growth of the organization with new ideas
· Participate in continual professional development
· Perform other duties as assigned
· -5 years of experience as a BA in the Corrections, Finance or Medical domain
· 3-5 years of experience authoring use cases and functional requirements, and designing software solutions
· Previous experience working with external Clients and End-Users
· Previous experience with diverse software development methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, RUP)
· Previous experience implementing Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software solutions
· Previous application or business experience related to the Corrections industry is an asset
