Lead Data Engineer
TLDR
Lead the design and delivery of scalable, production-grade data solutions across cloud ecosystems, mentoring engineers and shaping enterprise-scale data platforms.
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end data engineering solutions across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
- Build and optimize scalable data pipelines ensuring performance, reliability, security, and efficient data integration across multiple systems.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into technical architectures and implementation roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineers, ensuring best practices in coding, design, and delivery.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation including solution designs, POCs, architecture diagrams, and system workflows.
- Ensure full lifecycle ownership of data solutions, from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.
- Work with modern data platforms and tools to enable automated data transformation, orchestration, and real-time or batch processing workflows.
- 8 plus years of hands-on experience in data engineering, designing and implementing scalable data solutions in production environments.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring engineering teams in complex technical projects.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or Scala with the ability to build robust data applications and pipelines.
- Deep expertise in SQL, including query optimization, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Databricks.
- Hands-on knowledge of data integration and processing tools such as Spark, Kafka, dbt, Airflow, and similar technologies.
- Experience working across the full software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with experience delivering presentations and technical documentation to stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Exposure to distributed storage systems, data lakes, and modern data architectures is highly preferred.
