Material Handler

Purpose

The Material Handler role is criqtical in ensuring that production, prototype, and engineering build teams receive consistent and on-time support for all build related needs. Reporting directly to the Manager, Warehouse Operations, this position requires someone that can prioritize multiple tasks and perform high volume picking and kitting actions in an efficient and accurate manner. Further, this role must be flexible and will need to also support inbound receiving, outbound packaging, and system related tasks on an as needed basis determined by changing demand. Lastly, this role is required to support weekend operations (Sat/Sun), and driving between facilities to position material for production will be frequently needed (a company vehicle will be provided).

The Role

  •  Manage inventory levels within ERP system, and accurately transact material between various inventory locations
  •  Receive inventory into ERP system while collecting relevant data, and scan or file any corresponding documentation
  •  Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock locations with MRP/ERP system
  •  Perform regular cycle counts and report cycle count findings to management for approval
  •  Report and track material stock levels
  •  Perform kitting functions in support of production operations in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring delicate and/or high surface finish parts are handled with care
  •  Ensure all incoming parts have been received accurately and distributed to stock and/or relevant stakeholders
  •  Contribute to maintaining a clean work area and department
  •  Package and stage finished goods for outbound shipments
  •  Schedule domestic/international outbound/inbound shipments using various couriers (UPS, FEDEX, DHL,) to ensure production/customer schedules are met
  •  Operate a forklift, pallet jack or scissor lift to move material between the production line and inventory locations
  •  Support the broader department metrics, goals, and objectives
  •  Perform all other duties as assigned by a supervisor and/or manager

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
  • Experience and understanding of inventory management and production kitting processes
  • Proficient using Microsoft products (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced /cross functional environment
  • Excellent communication and team-building skills
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in automotive, aerospace, or scale-up manufacturing environments
  • Operational expertise with WMS offerings (Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, etc), and familiarity with MES environments (and fundamental understanding of integration requirements)
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP Systems (Oracle, Netsuite, SAP, etc.)

Work Environment

  • This is a standard full-time role, on site 5 days a week. The selected shift schedule is required to include Saturday/Sunday.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Load and unload delivery trucks utilizing heavy machinery and equipment (pallet jack/forklift)
  • Must be able to work in areas that are loud for 8 hours
  • Ability to stand, bend for prolonged periods at a time

Compensation

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at level T02 as evaluated through our interview process. 

  • T02/ Material Handler:  $30/hr - $41/hr
