About Nox Metals. American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. Nox Metals is building it, along with the tools that run it. We’re a technology company in Metro Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.

The role. We’re hiring a People Operations Associate to make employment at our Detroit facility organized, responsive, and dependable. You will support onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, time and attendance, training coordination, and the everyday questions that matter to our team.

You will be a visible partner on the factory floor and a careful steward of sensitive information. The work ranges from welcoming a new hire to fixing a record, helping a supervisor follow a process, or making sure a benefit change reaches the right system.

You will:

  • Coordinate preboarding, orientation, paperwork, equipment, and first-week schedules

  • Maintain complete and accurate employee records across people systems

  • Support benefits enrollment, employee changes, and common employee questions

  • Help manage timekeeping, attendance records, leave documentation, and payroll inputs

  • Track required training, acknowledgments, and employment documents

  • Support hourly recruiting, interviews, offers, and hiring logistics when needed

  • Explain policies clearly and escalate sensitive matters appropriately

  • Prepare regular people reports and investigate data discrepancies

  • Coordinate employee events and practical workplace needs

  • Improve forms, checklists, and workflows as the team grows

You are:

  • Warm, discreet, and trustworthy with confidential information

  • Extremely organized and reliable about details and follow-up

  • Comfortable supporting both factory employees and managers

  • A clear communicator who can explain a process without unnecessary jargon

  • Calm when a teammate brings you an urgent or personal concern

  • Comfortable using HR software, spreadsheets, and shared documentation

  • Fair, consistent, and willing to say when you need to find the right answer

Nice to have:

  • Experience in people operations, HR coordination, office administration, or payroll support

  • Experience supporting hourly teams in manufacturing, warehousing, retail, or hospitality

  • Familiarity with HRIS, benefits, timekeeping, or applicant-tracking systems

  • Knowledge of Michigan employment practices

  • Comfort using AI tools carefully for administration, analysis, and communications

Benefits:

  • Equity in Nox Metals

  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
