Principal Architect – SRE, DevOps & DevSecOps

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly accomplished Principal Architect – SRE, DevOps & DevSecOps to drive enterprise-wide reliability, automation, platform engineering, and cloud transformation initiatives. This leadership role will define strategic architecture, governance frameworks, and operating models that enable scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-efficient technology platforms across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong architectural vision and proven experience leading large-scale DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering transformations across complex enterprise environments.

Experience

  • 15–20 years of overall IT experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years in architecture, transformation, and Center of Excellence (CoE) leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-scale DevOps, SRE, Cloud, and DevSecOps initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technology Strategy

  • Define enterprise-wide architecture, standards, reference frameworks, and best practices for SRE, DevOps, DevSecOps, and Platform Engineering.
  • Design highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and resilient platforms across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
  • Establish reliability engineering practices including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, capacity planning, and service resilience frameworks.
  • Lead adoption of Platform Engineering principles and Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) to improve developer productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Drive modernization initiatives aligned with business and technology objectives.

SRE, DevOps & DevSecOps Leadership

  • Build, scale, and govern enterprise DevOps, SRE, and DevSecOps Centers of Excellence.
  • Define operating models, governance frameworks, maturity assessments, KPIs, and success metrics.
  • Standardize CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, security, release management, and operational excellence practices.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to engineering, infrastructure, cloud, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop reusable frameworks, accelerators, and reference implementations.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

  • Architect and govern enterprise solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
  • Lead Infrastructure as Code adoption using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, and related technologies.
  • Enable modern container platforms using Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, and service mesh architectures.
  • Drive cloud governance, platform standardization, scalability, reliability, and FinOps initiatives.
  • Define platform engineering strategies that accelerate software delivery and operational excellence.

Observability & Reliability Engineering

  • Architect enterprise observability and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Datadog, and related technologies.
  • Establish proactive monitoring, intelligent alerting, incident management, and reliability improvement programs.
  • Lead root cause analysis, blameless postmortems, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Define enterprise reliability metrics and reporting frameworks.

CI/CD, Automation & DevSecOps

  • Standardize enterprise CI/CD platforms using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Argo CD, and GitOps methodologies.
  • Promote pipeline-as-code, automated testing, release automation, and quality engineering practices.
  • Integrate security controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Drive adoption of automated compliance, policy-as-code, vulnerability management, and secure software development practices.

Security & Compliance

  • Embed DevSecOps principles across application and infrastructure delivery processes.
  • Partner with security teams to implement secrets management, vulnerability scanning, compliance automation, and governance controls.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with senior technology leaders, enterprise architects, cloud teams, security organizations, and business stakeholders.
  • Mentor architects, engineers, and technology leaders across DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, and DevSecOps domains.
  • Establish communities of practice, capability-building programs, and organizational enablement initiatives.
  • Influence executive leadership through measurable business outcomes, reliability metrics, and transformation roadmaps.
