Private Brands Pricing Analyst

TLDR

Analyze sales, inventory, costs, and product categories to set competitive pricing while protecting margins and improving inventory turns.

SUMMARY

The role of Pricing Analyst for Private Brands is unique from other SRE Pricing roles because we are the manufacturer and we are setting our own price. This role will help monitor sales, inventory and cost changes to help manage the business. Summit Racing Private Brand has enough SKUS and price volatility that we need a dedicated person for the department to help ensure competitive pricing while protecting margin and helping improve inventory turns.

Initial training will be 100% on-site. After training period, this will be a hybrid position with minimum 3 days on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Candidates must be located in OH to be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as assigned):

  • Conduct proactive pricing analysis to ensure Summit Racing Equipment is competitive while maintaining the highest margins that the marketplace will allow. Execute corporate and department pricing strategies.   
  • Conduct competitive retail analysis, execute retail changes relating to vendor cost changes, and adapt as pricing strategy evolves.  
  • Analyze part types and product categories to make sure our pricing structure matches product offering hierarchy of good-better-best or similar variables.
  • Maintain balance between sales, profit, and gross margin growth for the company
  • Communicate opportunities and challenges within the department to aid in inventory alignment and sales opportunities. Work cooperatively with Purchasing and Merchandising.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • A two-year college degree in Marketing, Advertising, or Business is preferred.  Related experience, preferably in both consumer and Business-to-Business, with a track record of creative/forward thinking and analysis.  Must be fluent in calculations of margin, gross profit and cost/sales relationship. Must be current on industry best practices and adaptable to new or emerging tools and technology.   
  • Project management experience, use of spreadsheets, i.e. Microsoft Office products.   
  • Automotive knowledge or mechanical aptitude in a related field is beneficial.
