Product Engineer
TLDR
Solve energy retail challenges through customer discovery, full-stack delivery, AI-native tools, and zero-to-one product work.
About the Role
This is a product-focused engineering role at the intersection of customer discovery, end-to-end delivery, and engineering culture. You'll tackle mission-critical problems for energy retailers — turning complex domain challenges into intuitive, production-grade experiences — on a small, high-ownership team where your work directly moves the business forward.
What You'll Do
Sit directly with customers to dissect problems and build product intuition that shapes engineering decisions.
Ship end-to-end solutions across the full stack, taking features from discovery all the way to production.
Use AI-native development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) as force multipliers to accelerate impact.
Own zero-to-one problems such as dunning workflows and customer portal re-engineering.
Prioritise ruthlessly — deciding what to build, what to skip, and when to kill initiatives.
Solve core energy retail challenges: billing, procurement, customer retention, and cost optimisation.
Shape engineering culture, tooling, and processes, and help raise the bar when hiring.
What We're Looking For
2+ years of software engineering experience shipping end-to-end, full-stack products to production.
A demonstrable track record of owning zero-to-one problems from discovery through production — we assess what you've built.
Strong full-stack capabilities and comfort owning entire systems independently.
Hands-on experience with AI-native development tools and the mindset to treat them as first-class instruments.
Experience solving billing, procurement, retention, or cost-optimisation problems in energy retail or a comparable consumer-facing domain.
Experience influencing engineering culture, tooling, and processes in an early-stage team.
High ownership, strong judgment, and genuine comfort operating in ambiguity at high velocity.
Bonus: contributions to core products in high-engineering-bar environments or notable open-source projects.
