Quality Control Manager

TLDR

Build and defend a certified QMS, set release criteria, and hold stop-ship authority across product, production, and after-sales service.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a hands-on and highly structured Quality Control Manager to build, own, and defend quality across the entire company: product, production, and after-sales service. In this role, you will be accountable for our certified quality management system and for the evidence that every single unit we deliver meets contractual, regulatory, and safety-relevant requirements. This is a role with real authority and a direct line to the COO. You define the binding quality processes, you set the release criteria, and you hold stop-ship authority over every delivery that leaves our floor.

The day-to-day

  • Quality management system: build, maintain and defend our QMS (EN 9100, AQAP 2110/2210), own the process landscape and drive us through internal audits, external audits and certification milestones.
  • Production quality: own all in-process inspections, serialization and batch control, and keep manufacturing documentation complete, clean and archived.
  • Incoming and end-of-line control: own goods-in inspection and EOL release. No unit leaves the building without documented conformity.
  • Non-conformity management: run the NC process end to end: containment, root cause, corrective and preventive action, and closure before delivery.
  • Supplier quality: set the quality bar toward suppliers together with Supply Chain, and drive supplier audits, escalations and long-term corrective action.
  • Documentation and traceability: keep every product traceable from incoming material to delivered unit, including full CoC evidence.

You should apply if you

  • Education: you have completed vocational training or a degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering or mechatronics, industrial engineering, production technology, quality engineering or a comparable technical field.
  • Experience: you bring at least 3 years in quality management or quality control in a hardware, aerospace, automotive or defense production environment.
  • Standards: you have worked hands-on with EN 9100 / AS9100, ISO 9001 or AQAP 2110/2210, and you know what an audit really demands.
  • Methods: you are fluent in the toolkit: 8D, root cause analysis, FMEA, first article inspection, inspection plans and measurement equipment.
  • Mindset: you like building the system, not inheriting it. You are comfortable in a fast-moving start up where the process does not exist yet, and you have the backbone to stop a shipment when the evidence is missing.
  • Language skills: English and German are required

Nice to haves

  • Defense exposure: experience with defense or dual-use programs, NATO requirements or customer quality representatives.
  • Auditor qualification: certification as internal auditor or lead auditor (EN 9100, ISO 9001).
  • Serial production: experience scaling from prototype to serial production of complex hardware systems.
