Senior Full Stack Engineer (backend leaning)

Accountabilities:

Own the design, development, deployment, and scaling of backend systems and infrastructure supporting core financial products in a fast-paced fintech environment.

  • Build and maintain high-performance APIs and backend services that power customer-facing applications
  • Design scalable cloud-native architectures using AWS and Node.js (TypeScript)
  • Take full ownership of system reliability, performance, and long-term maintainability
  • Ship production-ready code frequently while balancing speed with engineering rigor
  • Define and promote backend engineering standards, patterns, and best practices across the team
  • Make informed architectural decisions, weighing trade-offs between scalability, speed, and complexity
  • Collaborate closely with product engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Continuously improve system design to support growth, resilience, and evolving product needs
  • Requirements:

    This role requires strong backend engineering expertise, deep systems thinking, and the ability to thrive in a high-ownership, fast-moving environment.

    • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus
    • Experience building and scaling production systems using Node.js and AWS
    • Strong proficiency in TypeScript (preferred)
    • Proven ability to design reliable, scalable, and high-performance distributed systems
    • Deep understanding of system architecture, performance optimization, and backend fundamentals
    • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive projects independently from concept to production
    • Comfort working in ambiguous environments and making decisions with incomplete information
    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and product teams
    • Self-starter mentality with a bias toward execution and delivery
    • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering velocity while maintaining code quality
