Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer

This role has been created to support the ongoing development, maintenance, and modernisation of the organisation's infrastructure and cloud platforms.

The Senior Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer is responsible for providing senior technical expertise across the organisation's infrastructure environment, ensuring systems remain secure, resilient, reliable, and aligned with business needs. The role supports the delivery of infrastructure improvements, cloud adoption initiatives, and technology refresh activities while contributing to the day to day operation of the organisation's IT platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments.

• Administer and support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and core networking.

• Ensure the availability, security, performance, and reliability of infrastructure services.

• Lead infrastructure improvements, cloud adoption, and technology modernisation initiatives.

• Support hybrid cloud environments and collaborate with development teams on infrastructure solutions.

• Apply security best practices, including patch management, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.

• Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.

• Produce technical documentation and work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to deliver infrastructure projects.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Experience in Infrastructure, Systems, or Cloud Engineering within an enterprise environment.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Active Directory.

• Experience administering Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and enterprise networking.

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching.

• Experience delivering infrastructure projects and improving enterprise environments.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate certification.

• Experience with hybrid cloud, cloud migrations, or infrastructure modernisation.

• Financial services or other regulated industry experience.

• Knowledge of ITIL, backup & disaster recovery, infrastructure monitoring tools, Jira, and Confluence.
