Senior Security Engineer

About the role:

As Senior Security Engineer, you will own security across our cloud environments, primarily AWS. Security has been a shared responsibility across the DevOps team, and this role formalises that into a dedicated function within DevOps team, taking ownership of cloud posture, detection, identity, and shaping the foundations for how it scales.

You'll be working across a diverse and complex environment, processing millions of images a day for some of the world's largest insurers, governments, and construction firms, shaped by real cloud threats like credential abuse, privilege escalation, and anomalous API usage. The roadmap's signed off, so you'll spend your time building rather than pitching for budget, with real room to grow the function as it scales.

What you'll be doing;

• Cloud security posture across our AWS environment, including detection pipelines built around real threats like credential abuse, privilege escalation, and anomalous API usage 
• IAM at scale, from workload identity to least-privilege enforcement and policy
• Infrastructure as a code, containerised workloads and CI/CD pipelines, embedding security into how we ship rather than bolting it on after
• Security education across engineering, helping teams make good calls themselves rather than routing everything through one person

What we're looking for;

• 7+ years in security engineering, cloud security, or a platform/DevOps role with a strong security focus
• 5+ years of deep hands-on AWS experience across GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, CloudTrail, KMS, and IAM
• Solid infrastructure as code experience and comfort scripting in Python, Go, or Bash  Kubernetes exposure is a genuine plus
• Confidence communicating security risk clearly to both engineers and executives
• A pragmatic streak. You know the difference between what needs to be right today and what can wait, and you build security as something that enables engineering, not something that blocks it

This role is based in our Barangaroo, Sydney office with hybrid flexibility offered.
