Senior Software Developer (LWS Scrum)
TLDR
Drive backend development for a quantum-classical cloud platform in a Scrum team, delivering scalable services and contributing to engineering growth.
In this role, you will take ownership of backend development efforts within a Scrum-based engineering environment, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of scalable cloud services. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle while ensuring high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with product owners and architects to define requirements and deliver end-to-end backend features
- Designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining distributed systems and RESTful services
- Improving existing systems by identifying performance bottlenecks, bugs, and architectural inefficiencies
- Writing clean, scalable, and well-documented Python-based services and APIs
- Participating in peer code reviews and contributing to engineering best practices
- Supporting debugging, troubleshooting, and system-level issue resolution
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team technical growth
- Participating in on-call rotations and ensuring system reliability after onboarding
- Engaging in innovation initiatives such as hackathons and experimental development efforts
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development, automation, or systems work
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs in production environments
- Solid understanding of Git workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development practices
- Experience working across the full SDLC in agile or Scrum environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across technical teams
- Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable in fast-evolving technical environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Competitive base salary ranging from $150,000 to $206,000 depending on experience and location
