The Environmental Compliance Specialist supports the delivery of environmental compliance activities within Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC). This role contributes to the implementation of compliance initiatives aligned with QIC’s regulatory obligations and internal requirements, with a focus on compliance monitoring, data management, and day-to-day coordination of compliance-related tasks.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Environmental Compliance, this role provides operational and administrative support across environmental compliance monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination activities. The Specialist will assist in implementing assigned compliance deliverables, maintaining records, supporting data collection and analysis, and helping track the status of compliance obligations across projects and operations.

Core responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of environmental compliance frameworks, procedures, and related programs in line with QIC’s regulatory obligations and departmental plans.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance performance data and preparing routine reports to support adherence to applicable regulations, permit conditions, and internal requirements.
  • Participate in compliance assessments, inspections, audits, and reviews by gathering information, maintaining records, and following up on action items.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, as directed by the manager, to support environmental compliance initiatives and reporting requirements.
  • Support the delivery of awareness sessions, presentations, and communications on environmental compliance topics.
  • Assist in the execution of project activities related to compliance and assurance by providing research, documentation, and administrative support.
  • Contribute to the integration of compliance requirements into project activities by supporting coordination across functions.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze compliance data to support reporting, issue tracking, and decision-making.
  • Stay informed on relevant environmental regulations, permit requirements, standards, and industry practices, and share updates with the wider team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the engineering fields (e.g. Chemical, Mechanical)

Professional Certifications (if required)

  • Relevant certifications such as ISO 14001, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, or similar are advantageous.
  • Experience
  • Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance, environmental management, assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects or complex organizations is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations, permit conditions, compliance obligations, and reporting requirements.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn, develop technical capability, and travel to project sites and meetings as required.
