Senior/Staff Software Engineer (Platform)
TLDR
Build LLM agents, event-driven pipelines, and reliable integrations for high-throughput manufacturing supply chain workflows.
About the Role
Join the Platform team at an early-stage AI-powered manufacturing supply chain company. You will build the backend services, data pipelines, and integrations that coordinate intelligent agents and support reliable movement of goods through complex manufacturing workflows.
What You'll Do
Design and scale backend services, Next.js API routes, background jobs, and serverless functions for high-throughput order processing.
Build and productionize LLM-based agents, AI/ML infrastructure, and RAG patterns for quote analysis and supplier recommendations.
Design PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and complex queries for materials, quotes, orders, and supplier relationships.
Build event-driven pipelines for order state management, notifications, and synchronization across systems.
Implement caching, rate limiting, and reliability patterns for external API calls.
Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability practices, and take ownership of backend incident response.
What We're Looking For
At least 5 years of production experience building backend services, data pipelines, or platform infrastructure, with Senior or Staff-level scope.
Recent hands-on experience with TypeScript, Next.js, and AI or agentic frameworks in web development.
Experience building NLP/ML pipelines to extract information from unstructured documents, including OCR.
Strong understanding of transactional guarantees, including ACID semantics, exactly-once processing, and idempotent APIs.
Experience with PostgreSQL or relational databases, event-driven systems, message queues, and reliable data pipelines.
Experience integrating ERP systems and third-party APIs, including legacy or poorly documented interfaces.
Background in manufacturing supply chain, procurement, or logistics, plus experience with observability and incident response.
Familiarity with LLM agents, RAG, or managed PostgreSQL platforms is useful.
