Software Engineer - Foundations
TLDR
Build low-latency services, shared GPU infrastructure, and data systems that let AI security teams ship and scale reliably.
The Foundations team builds and runs the platform that every other engineering team at Check Point AI Security ships on. We combine software engineering with SRE and infrastructure work: our engineers develop the services behind high-quality, low-latency serving, and we own the infrastructure and operations beneath them, protecting our service level objectives (SLOs) in production. The result is that product teams can ship, run, and scale with confidence, without needing to think about infrastructure, reliability, or operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and build the hot path: gateway, request scheduling, and orchestration, where milliseconds matter
- Join our on-call rotation and improve how we handle incidents
- Solve multi-tenant capacity problems on shared GPU infrastructure: isolation, admission control, and graceful degradation
- Own and operate our data systems (ClickHouse, Postgres, Kafka), including capacity, schema, and failure modes
- Write design docs, review architecture across teams, and help set engineering standards
- Scale our existing software stack and algorithms to serve the most demanding use-cases
- Help maintain the DevOps stack to continuously improve our own development practices
About you:
- You’ve built and run production services in Go, Python, or C++
- You’ve profiled, load-tested, and tuned a latency-sensitive system
- You work independently, write clearly, and take ownership of ambiguous problems
- You care about the customer behind the metric
- You’re curious about AI security
- You’re pragmatic and hands-on: you get things done and keep our long-term vision in mind
Nice to have:
- Experience serving models on GPUs
- You’ve operated at least one stateful data system in production
- Experience running services across more than one cloud
- Open-source contributions
