Software Engineer, iOS

The Software Engineer, will be an integral member of our engineering team, responsible for developing, scaling, and maintaining high-availability microservices that process millions of critical heart health measurements. This role directly contributes to AliveCor’s mission of transforming cardiological care by building industry-leading, FDA-cleared software that connects consumers and clinicians with life-saving data.
Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance iOS applications.
Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable code using Swift and modern iOS frameworks.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend developers, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party SDKs.
Ensure application performance, responsiveness, and reliability.
Identify and fix bugs, memory leaks, crashes, and performance bottlenecks.
Write unit tests and participate in code reviews.
Publish and maintain applications on the Apple App Store.
Stay up to date with the latest iOS technologies, frameworks, and best practices.
Core iOS Development
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
2+ years of professional experience in iOS application development with a strong proficiency in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) with the ability to write efficient, optimized, and scalable code.
Knowledge of multithreading using Grand Central Dispatch (GCD) and Swift Concurrency (async/await).
AI & Emerging Technologies
Experience working with AI-powered development tools such as Claude AI or GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity.
Familiarity with prompt engineering and leveraging AI tools for code generation, debugging, and test case creation.
Technical Architecture & Tools
Expertise in MVC, MVVM, and Clean Architecture principles.
Advanced experience with RESTful APIs, JSON parsing, and networking frameworks like Alamofire.
Proficiency in local data persistence using Core Data, SQLite, or Realm.
Mastery of Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and dependency management (SPM, CocoaPods).
Expertise in collaborative version control (Git) and automated testing using XCTest.
