ABOUT THE POSITION UnzerNEXT is Unzer's graduate program which turns graduates into engineers who ship real work. Over 18 months you join a payments team, work alongside a senior mentor, build with AI by default, and deliver a Signature Project of your own. You graduate ready to grow into a mid-level engineer at Unzer.   What your work will look like: 

Contribute to production code within engineering teams, delivering meaningful features and improvements from the first weeks onward. 

Continuously develop technical and professional skills through the structured UnzerNEXT curriculum, mentoring, and hands-on experience in real engineering environments. 

Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to design, implement, test, and review software solutions. 

Apply AI tools as a default part of the development workflow, including spec writing, code generation, verification, and review. 

Participate in two team placements across different domains to build a broad understanding of Unzer’s systems and business. 

Own and deliver a “Signature Project” demonstrating end-to-end engineering capability and business impact. 

What you need to be successful in this role:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, graduating in 2026 or graduated within the last 12 months. 

Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, systems thinking). 

Proficiency in at least one programming language and familiarity with modern development practices (e.g., Git, testing, CI/CD). 

Ability to effectively use AI tools in software development workflows. 

Experience with software development through academic projects, internships, open source, or personal work. 

Solid written communication skills (e.g., clear PR descriptions, documentation, and design explanations).

The interview process includes a 30min intro call with a TA Partner, a 60 min technical interview with the team, and 45 minutes interview with the Engineering Manager. Please note the process might alter depending on our team’s availability.
