Redbubble is hiring a

Senior Analyst, Marketing

San Francisco, United States

Redbubble begins with the world’s largest collection of artist shops. A shirt with an evil cat. An iPhone case with a hipster pirate. Whatever your thing, Redbubble has an uncommon design that smacks you right in the heart. (All available on over 70 products.) As for us? We’re passionate, imaginative, and a little offbeat. An inspired mix that’s helped artists earn over one hundred million since launch. (We’re also nice, well-balanced folks with lives outside of work.)

If you have stumbled upon this posting or someone helped you find your way (you’re welcome), then you just might be a numbers person. Not those superficial numbers. You know, like how many cups of Verve Coffee our typical analyst drinks each day (1.8465). You like the really good stuff: the thousands of rows of data needed to solve really complex problems. An example of which might be: how to decrease paid marketing costs while optimizing gross profit after the cost of paid acquisition is removed. Or this: improving the quality of our campaigns while becoming more operationally efficient. Easy….right?  Our business model has a strong appetite for rich business intelligence, but it has an insatiable sweet tooth for customer engagement.  And this is where you come in. Our San Francisco Marketing team seeks an experienced Senior Analyst -- an invaluable business partner -- who is excited to support future decisions that will improve efficiency, enable faster decision making, and better coordinate efforts across channels.

You will

  • Through advanced business analytics techniques, identify opportunities to improve marketing efforts
  • Build analysis and reporting structures, along with the storylines, to show value and impact
  • Ensure accurate, consistent reporting by validating source data and calculations with your secret sense of paranoia
  • Use internal and external data (e.g. customer, user, revenue, product, network, tool, market, industry) to propose potential strategies to team leaders
  • Build and maintain centralized operational dashboards and tools that the marketing team can use to extract data and insights for daily business management
  • Collect, validate and publish KPIs weekly and monthly for functional and executive report out -- a “one stop shop” for external communication, both for backward-looking KPIs and forward-looking forecasts
  • Discover new ways of approaching your own day to day through appropriate levels of automation

You are

  • Curious. That perfect balance between skeptic and believer.
  • Insightful. You derive context from unclear, incomplete and sometimes contradictory data.
  • Collaborative. You figure out a way to say yes...even if it is really a no.
  • Nimble. We move fast and our growth is impressive, and this excites you.

You bring

  • 5+ years experience in a data analyst or data scientist role (ideally with marketplace/ecommerce marketing teams)
  • Experience with Google BigQuery, Google Analytics, GoodData, Python, SAS and R
  • Experience with Data Visualization tools such as Tableau or Google Data Studio
  • A good working knowledge of RDBMS (SQL) with query-writing experience
  • Deep experience or interest in using behavioral analytics and data to drive customer success and customer driven decision making
  • Ability to analyze operational tests to determine impact to the business and customer

And some bonus points if you have

  • Previous work with online marketing teams
  • An interest in machine learning and personalization algorithms
  • Strong knowledge of experimental statistics and capability to learn what you don’t know
  • Previous experience managing a team or other analysts in a hands on capacity
