LinkedIn’s End User Support team is looking for an energetic Exec Support Engineer with a strong technical background to provide technical support and consulting services on all IT related matters, including laptop and desktop hardware, peripherals, desktop and mobile phones. The position will also provide ad hoc training on application use and various internal process and procedures as well as assist in providing periodic reports, inventory management, and other administrative tasks, as needed.

The successful candidate must be capable of providing optimum customer service to a wide variety of users through professional commitment and dedication. This candidate must also be able to adapt to change and learn quickly in a highly dynamic environment. This job may require occasional travel along with evening and weekend shifts.




  • Provide onsite technical support to LinkedIn VIP employees
  • Troubleshoot multiple computer and mobile platforms: Macintosh, Windows, Linux, Android and iOS
  • Provide advanced support for multiple enterprise applications including: e-mail, calendar scheduling, presentations, Internet browsers, as well as department-specific applications
  • Support and troubleshoot video conference equipment, for both onsite and offsite events
  • Provision and manage equipment for all new hires (mobile phone, desktop peripherals, laptops and desktops)
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions customized to the Exec's requirements
  • Flexibility to extended hours or modified schedule to support planned activities or emergency situations
  • Monitor operational and performance statistics for systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation regarding design documents, operational drawings/guides
  • Develop, maintain, and report on patch / update deployments.
  • Be capable of serving as a primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, and capacity of one or more of our Internet-facing services
  • Gain deep knowledge of our complex applications and use it to debug user productivity issues
  • Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed with "operability" in mind.
  • Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment.
  • Participate in a 24x7 rotation for oncall support escalations.

Basic Qualifications

  • S./B.A. in a technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in end user support, systems engineering and management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Multi Operating System & Mobile Platforms (Linux or Windows)
  • Experience with Office 365 Applications or Middleware Technologies
  • Experience in Programming / Scripting using one of the following languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Powershell)
  • 5+ years in a large-scale infrastructure role is ideal
  • Experience in MySQL server including but not limited to Database management, writing queries, maintenance, installation/configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Exposure and support of virtualized desktops and applications.
  • Previous experience in enterprise O365 rollouts.
  • Experience with Azure / Office 365 Suite Implementation / Integration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other site reliability engineering, Product Managers, etc.
