Sr. Manager - Business Development

The Box BD team works in a highly dynamic environment and provides a critical role to the company. Our overarching goal is to further Box’s mission to become the leading, modern content management platform through the formation of partnerships of all sizes that add to the value of the product and generate new users and revenue.

OVERVIEW:

Cloud Technology Partners will be responsible for defining and leading initiatives with Box’s most important partners categories, those that provide the platform, security, management and content management solutions critical to our Fortune 500 and business-class customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in both enterprise software and ISV partnerships (including all aspects of technology partnerships: contracts, negotiation, commercial models, technology and product requirements and GTM execution).

A key success factor for this role will be the ability to enable and motivate the partner product and engineering teams to develop joint customer scenarios and integrations as well as motivating the partner GTM teams to drive joint revenue. The individual will also work very closely with the enterprise product management and marketing teams and an appreciation of technical details and product management is essential to success in this role.

We are looking for a smart, hands-on, detailed-oriented individual with the determination to create these partnerships, whatever it takes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage prospective partners, explore and define opportunities
  • Work with partner and Box product and engineering teams to define opportunities, requirements, and technology 
  • Work with partner and across-Box to define the comprehensive product, commercial and GTM plans 
  • Structure, negotiate and especially execute on deals
  • Develop and lead programmatic partner management functions across product and GTM
  • Become an expert on the Box customer and product and the industry, attend events regularly, and have a systematic approach to identifying important market trends


EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :

  • BA (Engineering or Computer Science preferred); MBA preferred
  • 2+ years of experience working in software at a top tier organization; enterprise and SAAS experience preferred
  • Proven results in partnerships, including negotiating agreements, on-boarding and ongoing partner management
  • Passionate about the cloud and Box 
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Results-driven, organized self-starter 
  • Collaborative cross-group and teamwork skills 
  • Creative and critical thinker

Pluses:

  • Management consulting or investment banking experience
  • Prior experience in software engineering, product management or product marketing
