We are seeking a results oriented and service driven EMEA Payroll Operations Manager who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced business environment. The ideal candidate will have strong influencing skills, the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, people management experience and the ability to work with various internal and external partners in providing a best in class and customer focused payroll service. 

The EMEA Payroll Manager will be responsible for the regional payroll operations, payroll tax and compliance reporting, vendor management, maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting the payroll accounting function in preparing and reviewing payroll journal entries and associated month and quarter-end activities.


  • Ensure all employees are paid on time, accurately and compliantly
  • Review and approve monthly payroll as prepared by the EMEA payroll team
  • Manage external payroll provider network in line with service level agreements
  • Provide assistance and support to the employment tax team for regulatory payroll audits
  • Participate, support and represent the payroll organisation in the rollout of cross functional initiatives
  • Be the primary point of contact for driving excellence and consistency in payroll controls
  • Lead a regional employee-centric culture in the organization with highly collaborative relationships across LinkedIn’s key regional stakeholders
  • Develop a team which achieves operational excellence for payroll operations
  • Lead strategic organizational awareness as well as leadership in delivering operational excellence in payroll compliance, reporting and service for our most precious asset, our employee talent
  • Ensure all payroll regulatory filings are completed in line with statutory due dates
  • Maintain, review and update payroll processes and procedures on an-going basis
  • Provide key stakeholders with ad hoc reports as requested
  • Ensure up to date payroll regulatory compliance legislation is adhered to, throughout the EMEA region


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degrees in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • 5 years + of multi-national company managerial experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience of managing multiple country payrolls across the EMEA region is preferred
  • Payroll Certification preferred
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical or financial information to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to think strategically and also act operationally and ability to manage ambiguity, risk, and changing direction of projects and strategies
  • Strong focus on proactive communication with stakeholders
  • Ability to develop business case, driving initiatives and justification for resources
  • Knowledge & understanding of international equity and mobility programs
  • Detail oriented, reliable, pragmatic and proactive
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical and highly organized
  • Focused, disciplined and ability to prioritize tasks and work to tight timelines
  • Fluency in English, fluency in a second language preferable
  • A strong bias towards providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of team
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Aptitude for problem-solving
  • Experience in Expat payroll desirable
