Senior Analyst, Supply Chain Data Management


Wayfair is looking for a driven, intellectually curious analyst with proven experience in complex problem solving, driving actionable insights, and championing innovative thinking to join our new Supply Chain Data Management function. This team is at the forefront of building an efficient, scalable supply chain for Wayfair to support business growth of 3-4X.

You will be helping to design the strategies, processes, and tools that will allow us to collect, validate, store, and use reliable supply chain data such as product attributes, transportation constraints, and source factory / port information.  Accurate, dynamic supply chain data is critical to driving optimal planning and decision making.  A successful Senior Analyst of Supply Chain Data Management will have stand-out skills working with large data sets to report on current state challenges and model out the impact of potential alternatives.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Research across teams to understand what datasets are available today regarding supply chain data quality. Your stakeholders are every department within Wayfair Operations: Transportation, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Merchandizing Ops, and more, as well as our suppliers and service providers
  • Assess current state by determining logical metrics to report and designing dashboards for senior management
  • As ideas to address data quality are put forward, develop techniques to analyze the cost, benefit, and expected efficacy of each. At a more advanced level, propose your own improvement opportunities based on your subject matter knowledge.
  • As new tools and processes are put into use, evaluate and report on whether they are moving the needle towards our organizational goals
  • Work with internal Product Management and Engineering teams to execute on approved system improvements
  • Become a subject matter expert in supply chain data management to field questions and requests from internal or external teams

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in operations, retail, engineering, consulting, strategy or finance
  • Proven track record of driving actionable insights and communicating with executive stakeholders
  • Experience with SQL strongly preferred
  • Experience with data cleansing projects and systems architecture a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
