On this team, you will own running our production services and will be working very closely with our developers to ensure reliability, scalability and performance of the next-generation of systems. As such, you will be a core driver of operational excellence throughout the development cycle and go-live.

Why you need Box 
You're going to have the unique opportunity to architect, build, and design customer facing services across our hybrid-cloud platforms with the highest level of security that any company has to typically deal with. As you drive and scale our infrastructure and service, you will get to work with cutting-edge technologies and all major cloud providers. You will have visibility across all of Engineering and have impact directly on the entire business.
 Who you are
  • 5+ years experience operating Windows in a large-scale production environment.
  • Technical proficiency in Windows Server design and deployment, configuration, optimization, best practices, disaster recovery, and other related areas with troubleshooting at the expert level within large network environments. 
  • Deep knowledge of core internet technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, DHCP.
  • Proven production service troubleshooting skills that span applications, systems and network within a primarily Windows environment.
  • Demonstrated advanced programming skills in Windows PowerShell.
  • Solid understanding of operational principles, such as capacity planning, monitoring and incident handling.
  • Experience working with Windows infrastructure technologies, including Active Directory, Hyper-V, WSUS, KMS and Windows Group Policy management.
  • Exposure to Linux system basics, common commands and syntax, and BASH knowledge.
  • Soft-skills required to partner with development teams to own production services such as strong sense of teamwork, communication, prioritization and organizational skills.

Nice to have: 

  • Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013/2016 platform knowledge, administration, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL 2012 R2 and 2016 in a highly-available architecture.
  • Demonstrated programming skills in C#.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms including OpenStack and Docker.
  • Experience with public cloud technologies (Azure, Amazon, Google, etc).
  • Experience with Red Hat based Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Scientific Linux, Ubuntu, etc.).
  • Experience with configuration management and monitoring/alerting tools, including Puppet, Nagios, Sensu.
