The Who, What, Where and Why
We are looking for an experienced legal operations professional to join our team of lawyers and support professionals in our San Francisco office. This job is for you if you are a motivated and resourceful self starter who enjoys using data to identify needs, anticipate issues and develop solutions to support the legal team’s mission. You are entrepreneurial, proactive and highly organized, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. You are able to effectively collaborate with legal team members and other teams across the company. Finally, you possess a sense of humor and disdain for drama.
An engaging day for you will likely involve joining the legal leadership team in its weekly meeting to review company priorities, operational issues, and team performance against quarterly measures, where you will leverage your expertise in legal team operations to help identify operational solutions and process improvements. You may also partner with members of the litigation team to review and advise on an outside counsel preferred partner program, prepare an RFP or lead quarterly review of outside counsel budget, staffing and performance. You will partner closely with our contracts, sales operations, finance and IT teams to identify opportunities for improved metrics, collaboration, systems and automation. You may meet with the GC regarding a strategy and implementation plan for building out a Center for Excellence, to ensure consistent delivery of excellent results by a global legal team. Finally, you may wrap up the day with a meeting with our finance partner to review monthly spend against budget, taking that information back to team leads along with ideas for how to address anomalous spending.
Twilio’s legal team is rapidly growing, scaling to serve customers around the globe with increasingly complex problems to solve. As the demands on our team grow, it is increasingly important that we are bringing rigor to our operations, with an eye to continuous improvement, best practices and operational excellence. Your unique skill set and experience in legal operations are critical to help us build a best-in-class legal operations function to support our thriving and growing business and the teams we support across the company.
