Because you belong at Twilio
The Who, What, Where and Why
Twilio is growing rapidly and seeking a Head of Global Real Estate & Facilities to oversee our existing office space and drive our real estate expansion strategy as we grow. Reporting to the CFO, this position will lead our real estate planning processes, globally, and will have significant interaction with C-Level executives.
This role will work cross-functionally with business unit leaders, will partner with our Employee Experience team, and will be a key point of alignment for our geographic expansion needs.
Twilio is looking for a leader with at least 15 years of operating experience managing real estate and facilities requirements in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have significant exposure to planning in a rapid growth environment, will have strategies for optimizing flexibility and optionality in the real estate landscape and will operate independently as a self-starter, exercising sound judgment on resolving real estate related issues in alignment with Twilio’s financial goals and cultural values.
The Head of Global Real Estate & Facilities will lead Twilio’s global real estate management and planning efforts, in alignment with the company’s expansion targets and financial goals. This role will join with the company’s current portfolio measuring around 500,000 square feet, located in 11 countries and 14 major cities.
This role will partner extensively with FP&A, linking our geographic headcount growth to key expansions of existing locations and requirements in new regions. As expansion projects are identified, this role will lead the planning, design and project management efforts of all office expansions including property visits, site selection, lease negotiations, workspace architectural design, planning, build-out, and furniture procurement/installation.
As we continue to expand our sales and R&D investment efforts in various locations across the globe, this role will need to ensure our office locations meet the space and facility requirements for each of the stakeholder groups in the region. This role will help lead coordinated efforts with HR and IT partner groups, to ensure a consistent workplace environment for our global employees that reflects regional sensitivities and meets the quality standards for catering, IT support and employee experience events. Additionally, this role will help scale our facilities documentation and will help drive us towards more metric driven scorecards for operational excellence.
As we continue to maintain an increasingly larger portfolio of managed service and existing leasehold properties, Twilio needs to ensure we are progressively evolving our operating procedures across a wide range of real estate related areas. This role will ensure robust and scalable approaches to: day-to-day facilities maintenance needs, vendor management, operating impacts from lease and option right provisions, and managed workspace requirements.
As Twilio continues to grow rapidly, our real estate needs are increasingly global, complex and cross-functional. As our need for real estate investment increases, we must ensure we are balancing our investments in people and facilities in an optimal configuration.
Twilio is a company that is empowering the world’s developers with modern communication in order to build better applications. As we guide the company through its next stage of growth, we seek a leader who can help us ensure best in class approaches to real estate planning, facilities management and workplace environments for our employees.
