Since we launched at the end of 2013, over 4.2 million learners have registered from all over the world and we’ve seen over 10 million enrolments on our MOOCs (massive open online courses).
We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of key client projects in our Client Experience team.
Where clients have commissioned FutureLearn Studio to deliver high quality social learning experiences for their public or private audiences, you will coordinate internal resources, external suppliers and freelance contractors so that every project runs like clockwork. You will delight clients and stakeholders with your communication and reporting skills, and will always have one eye on the budget.
Within Client Experience, you will work closely with FutureLearn’s business development team and a growing cross-disciplinary team of product managers, learning technologists, web developers, designers, user researchers and data scientists. From time to time, we might ask you to help manage short term product development projects.
We are recruiting this role on a 12-month contract initially.
THE PROJECT MANAGER’S RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Head of FutureLearn Studio during the project definition phase, writing scoping documents and Statements of Work.Coordinate any internal resources and third party suppliers during the delivery phase.Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget.Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress, managing any changes to the project schedule or scope.Communicate with clients and any internal/external stakeholders.Identify and manage any risks that could affect the project’s success.Measure and report on the project’s performance against FutureLearn KPIs and client’s objectives.
Overseeing large and small-scale projects for consumer-facing brands or products. We’re looking for at least five year’s experience of agency-side project management.Managing multiple projects in parallel. Coordinating internal and external resources and suppliers (e.g. academics, learning technologists, graphic designers, filmmakers, content producers and/or web developers).Ensuring deliverables are provided on time and according to specification.Communicating clearly with clients and stakeholders, whether face-to-face, in writing, or using web-conferencing tools.Getting stuff done with cloud-based project management and collaborative tools (e.g. Trello, Google Docs, Slack, Pivotal Tracker).Writing bulletproof project plans, budgets and scoping documents which show you’re razor sharp on the little details.Producing project status reports that are a delight to read and easy to understand.Some client-side project management experience, especially with education institutions (e.g. working on MOOCs, e-learning websites or apps).A professional Project Management certification (e.g. PMP / Prince).Experience of working in – or a strong understanding of – the Higher Education sector in the UK (bonus points for additional overseas markets).A flair for writing proposals and pitching to clients to win new business.Some hands-on experience of web content management systems and/or video production.Some experience of collaborating with a cross-functional agile development team.
