Touch Surgery is hiring a

Lead UX Designer

London, United Kingdom

5 billion people, two-thirds of the world’s population, do not have access to safe and affordable surgical care. As a result, millions go untreated every year causing unnecessary suffering, permanent debilitation, or death. This is all caused by a shortage of surgeons, varying quality of care, rising costs of training surgeons, lack of funding and lack of accessibility to quality surgery. Digital Surgery is on a mission to change all of this.

With our award winning Touch Surgery application and newly built GoSurgery product, it is the dawn of Digital Surgery. Digital Surgery has created a digital data driven ecosystem that uses the latest and cutting edge technologies like AI, augmented reality and computer vision to modernise surgical training, orchestrate surgical teams in the OR and deliver safer surgery around the world.

The Lead UX Designer will be expected to understand and consider the high-level direction of the product but also the details of the app and web user journeys. We are looking to see a portfolio of work showcasing innovative, creative design solutions with a clear strategic rationale that meet business and/or user needs.

The candidate will need to have strong communication skills that allow you to efficiently communicate and visualise ideas to stakeholders across the company. You will have experience working in agile teams, with developers, UX designers and product owners, as well as mentoring and developing junior members of a team. A solid understanding of healthcare software, and healthcare technology is desirable.

  • Strong communication skills that allow you to effectively communicate and visualise ideas to stakeholders across the company.
  • Comfortable in a startup environment - whilst the company is somewhat mature, we are constantly evolving our product offerings and the candidate will be expected to adapt quickly within an agile team whilst bringing new ideas to the table
  • Organisational and planning skills are also crucial at Digital Surgery. You will be expected to have excellent organisational skills, able to multitask when necessary and prioritise both your own and your team’s work
  • A self-starter who enjoys problem solving and is motivated by ownership of their work, you will be expected to make the most of the freedom to take quick decisions in collaboration with the POs to move the product forwards.
