Senior Market Intelligence Analyst

We are looking for a Senior Market Intelligence Analyst,based in our London or Lausanne offices.

Reporting to the Senior Market Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for making data-driven strategic recommendations and visualizing complex data into actionable business insights to empower business teams in decision-making and help drive our Frontiers business forward. Your work will be used across the company to drive external engagements, business reporting, market intelligence and operational efficiency. As a result, we are looking for someone with exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and someone accustomed to handling large data sets.

Candidates who are familiar with, or had previous experiences in the academic publishing industry and/or have a strong proficiency in one or more programming languages will receive strong preference.

As part of the Market Intelligence Team, the successful candidate will:

  • Collect external market data and conduct competitive intelligence research, determine relevance and deliver reports to stakeholders
  • Conduct market research, gap analyses, and feasibility studies to analyse the viability of alternative or continued business growth opportunities
  • Work with the Editorial Office on new strategic partnerships
  • Answering requests for tenders from external partners
  • Work with key stakeholders to increase strategy competencies between the Editorial Office and Data Science team
  • Perform in-depth quantitative analysis of business data to derive meaningful conclusions and insights leading to actionable recommendations
  • Independently query and analyse data from multiple internal and external data sources and create useful summaries and visualisations
  • Study variances and key drivers of performance against forecast
  • Document the acquired results of analyses and workflows


  • Educated to university degree level
  • 5+ years working experience
  • Excellent communication in written and spoken English
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Advanced scientometrics skills
  • Experience with writing successful tenders
  • Self-motivated team-player
  • Critical thinker
  • A love for data
  • Experience with coding and automation (desirable)
  • Experience with SQL (desirable)
