Label Relations Account Manager, Japan

We are seeking a dynamic, high-calibre individual to manage our artist relations efforts in Tokyo.

This person is responsible for building and servicing relationships across the artist community - including artists, managers, lawyers, songwriters, producers and other influential members of this community. 

In this role you will be responsible for representing Spotify to this community, helping the community to understand what Spotify is, how our business model works, how we are impacting the music industry and how the artist community can use Spotify to grow their careers.

Crucially, in this role you will also represent the community back to Spotify. You will help to gather feedback and trends from this community and feedback into the wider Spotify business, helping the business to keep a finger on the pulse of the artist community.

For this role you will be required to develop a high level understanding of the economics behind Spotify and music streaming and be able to fit this into the context of the wider music economy. You should also have a strong set of existing relationships across this community and the right set of personal and professional skills to build this network out.


  • Provide the best possible service to rights holders with regards to artist marketing, business intelligence and maximising revenue
  • Identify, develop and execute unique marketing initiatives by leveraging artist and label relationships
  • Provide strategic and financial insight and develop best practice in order to help label partners achieve and build on revenue targets
  • Assure timely and correct delivery and publishing of new content. Resolve any operational matters that may affect your label partners
  • Offer guidance and insight into service functionality towards the music industry
  • Analyze streaming data to identify emerging artists and music trends
  • Act as liaison between Spotify and industry bodies
  • Connect other Spotify teams with the music industry to help drive and execute opportunities driven by Spotify and our partners


  • You love music.
  • You have account management experience with an established digital music service, established record label or media company
  • You have a proven track record of key results in marketing, strategy and infrastructure management/development
  • You have good analytical skills
  • Proficient with content management systems and supply chain processes with high-volumes of media
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You are able to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations
  • You have strong negotiation and people skills
  • You are well-organized with the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines
  • You have a network of industry contacts
  • Fluent English and Japanese
