Position Description:

Okta is looking for an experienced software engineer that is passionate about building large-scale, mission-critical software in a fast-paced agile environment. This is an opportunity to join our authentication team to develop cutting-edge risk-based adaptive authentication policies. We are looking for a software engineer to design and build large-scale distributed systems that use machine learning to solve business problems. The ideal candidate has experience creating complex rule systems to perform real time data analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Major areas of responsibility include:

  • Analyze/Refine Requirements with Product Management
  • Work with engineering management to scope and plan engineering efforts
  • Design and implement highly scalable event processing framework
  • Test-driven development, design and code reviews
  • Interface with QA, Product Management, Technical Support, Documentation and UX team

Minimum REQUIRED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 7+ years of strong software development experience in an object oriented language building highly-reliable, mission-critical software
  • Expertise in creating or extending complex rule systems
  • Excellent grasp of software engineering principles.
  • Experience with multi-factor authentication a plus.
  • Experience with machine learning a plus

Education and Training:

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field
