Systems Engineer The Hague, Netherlands

Den Haag, Netherlands

Ampyx Power is one of the most innovative companies around developing an ‘Airborne Wind Energy’ system. We will be launching it on the market in the next few years. We’re looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to help us achieve our upcoming milestones.
Do you enjoy conceptual multidisciplinary thinking and can you manage complex systems with a bird’s eye perspective? And, do you want to make a unique contribution to a pioneering technology for generating sustainable energy?
Then we’re looking for you!

Your role includes the following activities and skills:

As a member of the Systems Engineering team, you will be involved in our aeronautical design processes: Development Planning, Requirements Capture, Validation and Verification, Safety Analysis, Certification, Configuration Management and Product Assurance, covering all parts of our next generation facility (aircraft and ground based systems). You will not only perform (some of) these activities, but help define and improve these processes themselves as well. You will report to the Project Lead Engineer.
The focus for this position will be on high level system engineering during the detailed design and the certification program. You will be the driving force behind our product assurance/configuration management and you will directly support the project management team on team task management (Plan-Do-Check-Act). It is foreseen that the level of your responsibilities will grow as rapid as your acquaintance with the design allows. In particular you may initially be working on :

  • Maintaining the system and mission architecture (system tree, interfaces, mission phases, requirements)
  • Securing and supporting design justification (trade-offs, analysis)
  • Prepare documentation for certification authorities based on team inputs and templates
  • Maintaining design processes and work instructions
  • Configuration management and product assurance
  • Maintaining the overall design summary based on team inputs
  • Maintaining project (top level) development plans
  • Management of the PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act): task and risk management
