G100 Vanguard is a new series of year-long, industry-specific leadership development programs for emerging leaders.  Developed at the request of our members, the Vanguard programs enlist current and former CEOs and C-suite executives to share practical leadership examples with the ‘vanguard’ of rising executives, who are expected to lead their teams, their organizations and possibly their industries into the next decade.  The first program -- G100 Vanguard for Healthcare Leaders – offers exceptional learning and networking for emerging leaders across the healthcare ecosystem, including providers, payors, life sciences and healthcare IT, and will launch in April 2017.  We expect to launch subsequent programs in a handful of other industries, as well as professional services, over the next few years.





The Managing Director of G100 Vanguard will provide leadership and management for the Vanguard programs during periods of launch, scale and continued growth and join a team of other highly professional program leaders shaping the future strategic direction of G100 Network.  The Managing Director will be supported by G100 Network’s shared sales and marketing, program development and event planning resources as well as a dedicated team of two junior staff.  Specifically, the Managing Director will:


  • Lead all aspects of development, marketing and delivery for the Vanguard programs
  • Build long-term relationships with member company executives, primarily CHROs, who sponsor program participants
  • Recruit current and former CEOs and C-suite executives, as well as selected subject matter experts, to serve as session chairs and discussion leaders
  • Liaise with key advisors, primarily professional services firms, to leverage their networks for participants and speakers
  • Create engaging meeting agendas that highlight both enduring and emerging leadership best practices in the context of a given industry
  • Develop an integrated marketing strategy, including marketing collateral and salesforce campaigns, and manage crossover relationships with other programs and businesses
  • Onboard participants and serve as a critical participant resource
  • Oversee operations, logistics and day-of meeting activities to ensure a highly positive experience consistent with the G100 brand
  • Plan and execute secondary Vanguard events, including regional dinners and optional workshops, and develop an alumni program for Vanguard graduates
  • Consider ways to leverage technology to expand learning and networking opportunities, e.g. social media platform
  • Experiment with new content and format ideas that might be shared with other G100 programs
  • Manage and regularly report on a program budget and pipeline

  • Strong track record of building relationships and originating new business with leaders at large, sophisticated organizations
  • Charisma and authenticity for engaging and establishing rapport with senior executives
  • Client service mindset, with a desire to provide real value for members and partners
  • Aptitude for navigating an extensive network of high-value relationships
  • Rigorous project management skills oriented around details, practicality and results
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills, including confidence speaking in front of large groups
  • Self-direction and self-motivation to work most productively inside a small firm
  • Strategic, innovative and open-minded approach to both individual program development and broader firm direction
  • Professional demeanor, collaborative attitude, directness, assertiveness, and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, ideally in management consulting, investment banking, search or membership-based organizations
  • Experience across multiple industries, including healthcare, preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Location is flexible, although New York or another Northeast city is preferred
