We’re looking for a smart, passionate, and inquisitive engineer to work with us to measure and improve performance of the MarkLogic ServerThis role will be responsible for developing multi-threaded benchmarking applications for storage engines, search indices and query processing engines as well as analyzing benchmarking results to recommend and implement improvements.  This role will also work with development leads and product management in defining key performance indicators. 

Core qualifications:

  • 1+ years of hands-on development experience, performance benchmarking preferred
  • Ability to write, debug, execute, and document scripts in bash or Python
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems (Windows is a plus)
  • Some experience doing software development with Java, C/C++, XQuery, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Interest in identifying bottlenecks and limitations in software and hardware architectures; experience in debugging a plus
  • Interest in distributed systems, search engine technologies, database technologies, AWS

Strong preference for candidates who demonstrate experience in any of the following areas:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases and ecosystem
  • Understanding of system resources and how to debug complex distributed systems
