This is an exciting opportunity to be the technical contributor developing the latest technology in a rapidly-evolving market. As a member of the SKHMS Architecture and Modeling group, you will be responsible for all technical aspects of the architecture, modeling of SoC architecture for leading-edge Solid State Drives (SSD).

Qualified candidates for this position will join a small motivated research team. The candidate will write code that supports and enhances our SoC architectural model and flash translation layer model. The candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering proof-of-concepts based on various architectural explorations.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
  • Familiar with Java, C/C++, Matlab, Perl programming languages
  • Responsible for building / maintaining SoC Architecture model / flash translation layer model
  • Strong quantitative analytical abilities
  • Good understanding of digital logic design
  • Good understanding of data structure and algorithms
  • Good understanding of queuing theory
  • Good understanding of the fundamentals of computer architecture theory, memory hierarchy
  • Good understanding of multi-agent system and agent-based modeling
  • Strong interests in SoC development and digital circuit design
  • Out of the box thinking

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics
  • Familiar with Verilog/VHDL and SoC design
  • Familiar with Transaction Level Modeling (TLM) and System C
  • Knowledge in SSD Flash translation layer
  • Knowledge in FPGA design flow (Xilinx or Altera)
  • Knowledge in ASIC design flow and front-end toolchains
  • Good understanding of performance metrics in SSD-based storage system
  • Publications in SSD-based storage system or high performance computing domains
