Localization Test Analyst (Contract)

 

San Francisco

As a Localization Test Analyst, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing end-to-end localization testing of diverse and exciting global products of the PlayStation ecosystem, including the PlayStation®Store, PlayStation®Plus, PlayStation™Vue, PlayStation™Music, PlayStation™Video and more.

The Localization QA team is part of a larger Localization team and reports to the Program Management Office. The team works closely with Localization PMs and other stakeholders across several different time zones and on multiple product lines. Localization at SIE is an integral part of the Agile development process and requires flexibility, quick thinking, ability to juggle multiple priorities, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for the product. This position is based in San Francisco with occasional opportunities to work from home and travel. The project is a 6-month assignment with possibility of conversion to direct hire.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze testing scope, confirm deployment readiness, schedules and other requirements
  • Execute localization and functional testing of global products and features directly in the app or using screenshots
  • Report, triage and fix localization, internationalization and other defects
  • Help create localization test cases based on specifications from Design, Product Management and Engineering
  • Coordinate localization QA vendor engagement
  • Keep up-to-date records of current testing in Agile planning and other tools
  • Contribute to process improvement efforts by analyzing testing trends
  • Promote localization best practices for an Agile environment
  • Support overflow localization project management and other activities as required

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-6 years of experience in Localization or QA
  • Proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced technology environment
  • Experience with Agile development and best practices
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully supporting multi-platform localization QA efforts
  • In-depth understanding of the localization/functional QA industry standards and tool
  • Familiarity with defect tracking software and version control systems Ability to work with cross-functional teams and create consensus to achieve results
  • Familiar with software development cycles
  • Self-starter and team player. Advanced problem-solving and communication skills
  • Great attention to detail and timelines

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with localization automation, tools and processes
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) a plus
  • An interest in video games and PlayStation
  • Fluency in a foreign language a strong plus
  • QA automation experience an advantage
