Litigation & Operations Counsel

This role will help develop and drive processes for handling disputes and litigation in a manner that aligns with our values.
In this role you will:
  • assist with escalations from our our Risk and User Operations teams;
  • help define and execute on a global strategy for managing merchant disputes, pre-disputes, collections, litigation, and pre-litigation; and
  • work on a wide variety of matters that will requiring decisive, thoughtful decision making in a fast-moving environment.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
  • at least 6 years of experience working in litigation, pre-litigation and other contentious matters; 
  • admission to practice in at least one US state (preferably California);
  • a creative, business-minded approach to problem-solving and dispute resolution; and
  • a strong understanding of how to operationalize and scale processes;
  • excellent project management skills and ability work well on both long- and short-term projects.
The person we want to hire for this role will also be:
  • an exceptionally hard worker, capable of getting things done, even if means working well outside of normal business hours;
  • decisive and having excellent judgment, and capable of making smart decisions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information;
