Developer, Front-End - Payments

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and create functional web applications, with a focus on the client side.
  • Provide estimates for development effort
  • Evolve and implement new and existing UIs
  • Work with Lightspeed’s back-end systems team to deliver product features and functionality

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience developing production-grade software (preferably large systems)
  • Ability to learn new technologies or paradigms
  • Practical understanding of HTML5, CSS3 (pre-processors such as SASS or LESS a plus)
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6) - NodeJS is your bread and butter!
  • Solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and solutions
  • Experience building responsive websites
  • Experience using JS Frameworks/Libraries (jQuery, Underscore.js, Backbone.js, etc.)
  • Highly proficient in a UNIX/Linux environment
  • Deep knowledge of Web technologies
  • A keen interest in user interface design
  • Excellent communication skills

Assets

  • Familiarity with test driven development 
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
