Customer Experience at Opendoor is not your average support-based role. This is a hybrid role that combines elements of support, sales, and operations. The role is complex, because we’re doing something that’s never been done — helping individuals and families transact the most important financial decision of their lives completely online. If the process of selling a home wasn’t complex and anxiety-filled enough, it’s also deeply personal. The families we work with are selling homes in which they raised their kids, or grew old together. So while we communicate directly with Phoenix homesellers everyday, the work we do extends far beyond answering questions and delivering information. Our primary goal is building a relationship (that can last for months), anticipating our customers’ needs and helping them move onto the next phase of their life with peace of mind. 
 

As a Customer Experience Associate, you will:

    • Guide customers through the entire Opendoor homeselling process responding within hours to questions via email and phone.  
    • Be the primary point of contact for customers who accept our offer supporting them entirely through the inspection and closing process
    • Support the purchase of up to 50 homes monthly working closely with our title/escrow partners, transaction coordinators, and valuations team to deliver a seamless experience.
    • Work closely with a world-class operations team to rapidly build better process, tools and metrics.
    • Gather and synthesize customer insights to help our product and marketing teams deliver a better online and offline customer experience.  
    • Pilot exciting new initiatives in Opendoor’s flagship market and set the course for success in future markets.

    • Engaging communicator + active listener. You have limitless patience and enjoy the challenge of explaining a complex concept multiple times in different ways until a customer truly gets it. This can happen over the course of a 45-minute phone call or 20 emails and you don’t bat an eye.
    • Hungry. You have the horsepower and whatever-it-takes attitude to give your customers a delightful experience even if it means frequently being online at night or on weekends.
    • Solution-oriented. Everyone notices problems, do you have a bias towards action? When a current policy is creating customer friction or you’re certain a new tool could make our customer interactions more efficient, this gets you really excited. You scope the problem, gather supporting evidence, and propose a solution.
