Customer Solutions Data Analyst

As a Customer Solutions - Data Analyst, you will work closely with the rest of our Customer Experience team to ensure customer success from a data perspective. You will be consulting directly with our clients on their business needs, writing custom aggregation jobs to address their use cases, educating them on our system and working internally to support other customer experience efforts.

At Upsight, the Customer Solutions - Data Analyst plays a crucial role in delivering success to our customers. As our customers instrument our product, it will be your responsibility to work with our Customer Success Team and our Support Team to ensure that customers effectively use our schema to efficiently and accurately answer their business questions after we’ve collected their data. You will need to be able to effectively communicate with customers to be successful in this role. We are looking for a problem solver who has general analytical capabilities. As a Customer Solutions - Data Analyst, you will also work with our Product Management team to collect common uses cases to better improve our product.

What You'll Do

  • Quickly assess the business needs of customer and advise on the optimal way of structuring and aggregating data
  • Work with our Sales and Customer Success teams to answer questions from clients
  • Design custom analytic solutions for clients using the Upsight Personal Metrics system
  • Provide ongoing support to customers by both proactively designing analytic solutions for them as well as helping them answer data related questions
  • Work with our engineering team to improve the onboarding process, best practices, and address issues

About You

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Great customer empathy and sense of customer service ethics
  • Competence with SQL and Hive is crucial to the role
  • Experience with the Unix command line environment and scripting languages (eg: Python, Perl, Javascript or Ruby)
  • Experience deriving insights from large datasets and communicating those both internally and externally
  • Mobile (iOS, Android, Unity, AIR) development experience is a plus
  • BS or MS in physics, mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related field
  • Experience in a pre or post sales engineering or other customer facing role is an asset
  • A definite plus: In addition to English, candidates who speak additional languages such as Russian, Korean, Japanese, French and Spanish.
