We are looking for a Managing Editor of our Digital Finance (FinTech) titles. There are two main elements to the role: overseeing editorial and journalism for a portfolio of 3 titles we operate, and secondly working with our team of analysts and account managers to create content marketing campaigns for clients, leveraging Contentive’s global portfolio of titles.

This is a central role within Contentive at an exciting time for the company, offering the opportunity to come in and make your mark within our editorial team as we seek to redefine B2B publishing and content marketing.

Main duties will include:

  • Sourcing and writing news stories relevant to the financial technology industry
  • Oversee daily output across managed titles, commissioning and editing content from a team of freelancers, as well as writing content yourself
  • Representing the publications at events in the UK and worldwide
  • Interviewing industry leaders and writing up show reports from events
  • Monitor engagement statistics across the sites, helping set and manage editorial targets
  • Work closely with our marketing team to help grow audiences across the managed portfolio
  • Managing relationships with PR companies and other industry contacts
  • Enhancing SEO for content and driving engagement
  • Distributing content via social media

Key Skills/Experience required:

  • Degree in journalism, communications or a related field, or related work experience
  • Experience managing content for a publication in the B2B sector
  • Proven digital B2B editorial experience, producing insight-driven journalism for news portals (previous financial technology journalism ideal, but not essential).
  • Experience in content or news ideation and production for either a news organization or a brand
  • Familiarity with digital marketing space and enthusiasm for working with commercial brands
  • Great proofing / subbing skills/attention to detail
  • Ability to research and analyse information efficiently and get to grips with new subject areas quickly
  • Experience using Wordpress (or at least other CMS) is essential, as is knowledge and experience of SEO techniques
  • Experience of audience engagement through social media
