Director, Program Manager – Digital Media Services


SIE seeks a highly-qualified candidate for the position of Director, Program Manager. In this highly visible role, you will provide direct management to a program management team of 10 to 15 members with core responsibilities that include the hiring, training, and daily task supervision of the staff activities.

In addition, you will drive individual product development and market expansions programs from inception through deployment over a worldwide scale. You will work with a globally distributed cross-functional team (product management, business operations, engineering, design, marketing, support, legal, finance) to ensure product and operational readiness for market delivery. These programs will impact how millions of customers will watch and enjoy video, music, and television services on the PlayStation Network.


  • Providing direct management for a program management team of 10 to 15 members. This includes the hiring, training, and daily task supervision of the staff activities for multiple cross-functional programs.
  • Collaborating with staff and management of multiple worldwide business units and outside 3rd parties to clearly identify, explain, and communicate their project involvement, project goals, expectations, tasks, and timelines.
  • Owning program schedules, task assignments, and managing program planning progresses - from large phases through to detailed tasks, including understanding and managing dependencies.
  • Authoring many types of documents including scope, requirements, agendas, action plans, status decks, executive summaries, and program plans.
  • Reporting of program plans, states, and risks to executive audiences.
  • Contributing to establishing methods and metrics for tracking performance and making decisions within the extended program management group.
  • Regular domestic travel (less than 25%) is required. Occasionally international travel may be needed depending on program scope.


  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a direct managerial capacity, preferably in a program/project or product management discipline
  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a program/project manager in the digital media, gaming, e-commerce, or network services industries
  • Solid understanding of software development models and release processes including Agile/Scrum methodologies and principles
  • High level of proficiency with office and project management tools


  • Excellence in conflict resolution, negotiation, and people management
  • Superior English communication skills, written and verbal, across all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to organize and lead large group events including speaking in public SAFE knowledge and experience
  • Formal training and/or certification in project management
  • Formal training and/or certification in agile/scrum or SAFe
